VARC has an annual fund of £3000 available to support local projects that directly involve an artist or artists and are of benefit to the Tarset, North Tyne or Redesdale communities.
Applications are welcomed from groups or individuals based in Tarset, North Tyne and Redesdale for projects that:
- result in a new piece of artwork or series of works that wouldn’t otherwise have got made.
- directly relate to the landscape or community in some way
- include some direct benefit to a sector of the Tarset, North Tyne or Redesdale community or as a whole, whether this is through the outcome or through creative participation.
VARC would be interested in funding either an arts project or the arts component of a locally significant project. The idea should be generated locally while the artist or artists involved may or may not be local. Applications can be made by individuals including artists but if this is the case the project must have clear benefit to the wider community with clear support for the project from members of the community or a specific group. Applications can be made by schools in the area but this must be for a project extra to normal curriculum-based activity and should consider the benefit to the community.
Any successful project would need to acknowledge VARC’s support from the outset and provide brief report and documentary images of the project on its completion.
The next deadline for this fund is 31st October 2011.
Please complete the appropriate application form (available from Janet Ross or downloadable from the Creative Funds page of VARC’s website www.varc.org.uk) and return it to Janet Ross at the address below by 31st October 2011. If you have any queries whilst completing the form please contact Janet.
