Response Part 2 opens 25th November

WALK ON 2

The second part of Response: A Rural / Urban Conversation opens at Unit 1, High Friars, Eldon Square in Newcastle on the evening of 25th November, 6 – 8 pm.  Everybody welcome!  The exhibition on the first floor of this huge empty shop unit near Grey’s Monument runs until mid December.

The first part of the project took place at Highgreen in June when NewBridge artists from Newcastle spent 3 days working with Jenny Purrett at Highgreen to make temporary pieces of artwork in response to the location.  These new artworks by Lauren Healey, David Lisser, Rory Biddulph, Tom Whittle, Holly Watson and Jenny Purrett were shown at an open event after which works were dismantled and taken back into town.

From 11th – 13th November Jenny will join artists at Unit 1 High Friars and all of them will alter or develop the same pieces of work in response to the very different environment of the city centre.  If you are in town then you should be able to see work in progress.

There will be a bus provided from Tarset into Newcastle for the opening event on the evening of 25th November.  So keep this night free if you’d like to go.  More information to follow.
