‘IN View’ Exhibition, 16th – 24th April (Mon – Fri 12 – 4, Sat & Sun 11 – 5)
Artworks displayed in and around the outbuildings at Highgreen by artists Chloe Fremantle, Helen Pailing and Megan Randall.
Each artist has recently spent time at Highgreen and drawn inspiration from the vast moorland landscape and the objects found within it through the mediums of painting, sculpture and ceramics. Most recently Northumberland National Park Authority took over the studio and accommodation and Megan Randall spent February in residence funded by The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre and Arts Council England.
And on Saturday 23rd April, a programme of events and activities:
2 – 4 pm – Drop in and meet Zoe Childerley, the new VARC Artist in Residence, at her Open Studio. Zoe will be running a photo booth so if you would like your portrait taken come along! Artist talk at 3pm.
4 – 5 pm – ‘On the ground’ activity with Karen Rann
5 – 5.30 pm – Artist’s talk by Karen Rann on her work in progress on her Great Lines project researching the history of contour lines. Karen’s project is funded by Arts Council England and VARC.
5.30 – 7.30 pm – A special exhibition viewing with Megan Randall, Chloe Fremantle and Helen Pailing all present to talk to as well as Zoe and Karen. Refreshments provided.
The exhibition and events day 23rd April is organised and funded jointly by VARC, Highgreen Arts and Arts Circuit Touring Exhibitions.
