With funding from Gillian Dickinson Trust, artist Helen Pailing spent time in Autumn 2016 working collaboratively with staff and students at The Grove School in Berwick.  Together they explored a variety of salvaged materials, creating sound shakers and learning how to transform everyday objects into new artworks.  The result is a large colourful artwork now installed in an outdoor play area.   Headteacher Valerie Henry said

We are absolutely delighted with the art project, thank you so much’

‘There were four different stations with bicycle wheels, pipe cleaners chain components and sounds sculptures.  First I threaded the ribbon on the bicycle wheel.  It was very tricky but I got the hang of it.  I then put the light in the hoop.  It was very exciting.’

‘The day was a great success and was fully inclusive to all our children, the materials  provided were stimulating and easy to use and enabled the children to develop their creativity independently as there was no right or wrong way, which made it a very enjoyable activity for everyone, including the staff.’
