We had glorious weather for VARC’s birthday weekend 4th – 6th June. Former artists made some stunning temporary artworks and lots of visitors came and enjoyed seeing them in the outbuildings, grounds and moorland around Highgreen. Also on display were pieces made during past residencies or projects. Lots of people took part in workshops led by artists jointly with local residents. They were also able to see work in progress and completed work by artists developing projects funded by VARC and by current artist in residence Jilly Morris. The Saturday was finished off with a hog roast and ceilidh enjoyed by around 150 people; artists, visitors and local people.
